Al Plastino was an American comics artist known for a lengthy run on the Superman family of titles at DC. Born in New York City in 1921, he joined DC in 1948 and worked there for twenty years on Action Comics, Superman, and related series. With writer Otto Binder, he co-created Supergirl, Brainiac, and the Legion of Super-Heroes. Plastino drew 48 Superman covers and also ghosted the Superman newspaper strip. He died in 2013 at age 91.
