Cassandra Cain

Cassandra Cain is a DC Comics character trained from birth to be an assassin, first appearing in Batman #567 in July 1999 and created by Kelley Puckett and Damion Scott. During the No Man's Land crossover she became Batgirl with Batman's blessing after saving Commissioner Gordon's life, and later headlined her own monthly Batgirl series starting in 2000. She is one of the most prominent characters of Asian descent in American mainstream comics and has also operated as Black Bat and Orphan.
