Martha Kent

Martha Kent is a DC Comics character and the adoptive mother of Superman, first appearing in Superman #1 (1939), created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. She and her husband Jonathan discovered the infant Kal-El after his spacecraft landed near their farm in Smallville, Kansas, and raised him as their son Clark. Across various DC continuities, Martha is credited with instilling Superman's moral values and, in many versions, with crafting his costume. She is one of the most enduring supporting figures in the Superman mythology.
