The Flash pursues a mysterious craft that moves too fast to be seen, a chase that carries him to the hidden African metropolis of Gorilla City. There he meets a population of intelligent apes and their peaceful leader Solovar. He also confronts Grodd, a telepathic gorilla who schemes to seize control of the city and extend his power over the human world.

Published in 1959, this issue contains the first appearance of Gorilla Grodd, Solovar, and Gorilla City. Its second story, The Pied Piper of Peril, presents the first appearance of the Flash villain the Pied Piper.

Written by John Broome with art by Carmine Infantino and inks by Joe Giella.
