Written by Jonathan Hickman with art by R.B. Silva, Powers of X is a six-issue companion to House of X that rewrites the history and future of mutantkind across four time periods. Year One revisits Charles Xavier's earliest days and the dream that set the mutant struggle in motion. Year Ten places Xavier and Magneto on the living island of Krakoa, forging an unprecedented mutant nation with its own laws and sovereignty. Year One Hundred depicts a bleak dystopia where humans, mutants, and machine intelligences wage an existential war. Year One Thousand peers far ahead to a cosmos transformed beyond recognition. Told in a non-linear structure that gradually reveals how each era connects, the series recontextualized decades of X-Men continuity and, together with House of X, launched the Krakoa era that reshaped the franchise for years to come.
