G.I. Joe: Cold Slither is a 2025 one-shot from Skybound and Image Comics, produced with Hasbro as part of the Energon Universe line of G.I. Joe comics. Writer Tim Seeley and artist Juann Cabal revive Cold Slither, the heavy metal band secretly made up of Dreadnoks that first appeared in the classic G.I. Joe animated series.
The comic is framed as the band's own account of their rise, offered up as the real version of events behind the music. As Cobra climbs the charts and spreads its influence through sound, G.I. Joe searches for a way to counter the scheme.
The book leans into comedy and rock nostalgia while pulling familiar Cobra figures into the spotlight. It works as a self-contained Energon Universe tie-in, separate from the Larry Hama A Real American Hero continuity.
