Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. (1999)

Courtney Whitmore discovers her stepfather Pat Dugan was once sidekick to the original Star-Spangled Kid and claims the identity for herself. Pat responds by building an eight-foot suit of armor to keep her out of trouble, creating an unlikely crimefighting duo. Written by Geoff Johns in his DC debut, the series gave rise to the character later known as Stargirl.
