Donald Duck (1952)

Donald Duck is the Dutch weekly Disney comics magazine, first published on 25 October 1952. The launch was handled by the publisher of the women's magazine Margriet, and the debut issue reached subscribers free of charge in a print run of roughly 2.5 million copies.

Each issue collects comic strips and stories built around Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Scrooge McDuck, and the wider Disney cast. The early years drew on American material, with original Dutch stories appearing from the mid-1960s and Dutch artists drawing covers from 1953.

Now published by DPG Media, it remains the best selling comics periodical in the Netherlands and one of the longest-running Disney weeklies in Europe.
