Description
The 2011-2012 opening storyline of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's Batman run, appearing in Batman #1-11 as part of DC's New 52 relaunch. The story introduces the Court of Owls, a secret society of Gotham's wealthiest families who have controlled the city from the shadows for centuries using immortal assassins called Talons.
When Batman dismisses rumors of their existence, the Court strikes, trapping him in their underground labyrinth. The arc challenged Batman's belief that he knows Gotham better than anyone, revealing secrets even he never suspected.
