Georgie the Giant is a friendly giant introduced in Popeye #51 in 1960, when a mission to Spinachovia turned him from menace to friend. He later became a recurring guest in Popeye's home town. Under the name Grissino, he caught on in Europe and earned his own Italian title in 1974.
