A foundling infant left on Popeye's doorstep in E.C. Segar's Thimble Theatre on July 24, 1933, then adopted and raised by Popeye as his own child. Named after the sweet pea flower, he was at first limited to the sound 'glop' before gradually developing the ability to speak.
