Prince Valiant is the protagonist of Hal Foster's epic American newspaper comic strip, first published in 1937. Exiled as a child from his homeland of Thule, Valiant eventually earns a place as a knight of King Arthur's Round Table and adventures across a richly detailed vision of fifth-century medieval Europe. The strip is notable for its continuous serialized narrative spanning thousands of Sunday pages, detailed artwork inspired by medieval tapestries, and its depiction of Valiant's marriage to Aleta, Queen of the Misty Isles.
