Floyd Gottfredson was an American cartoonist who spent 45 years writing and drawing the Mickey Mouse daily comic strip at Walt Disney Productions, beginning in 1930. He shaped the character into an adventurous hero and created lasting figures including the Phantom Blot and Mickey's nephews Morty and Ferdie. He was designated a Disney Legend in 2003 and inducted into the Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2006.
