Patrick Mulligan is still a reluctant host to Toxin, the most powerful symbiote to emerge from Carnage's lineage, when the mass breakout at the Raft prison facility floods New York City with escaped super-villains. Seeing a chance to put the symbiote's power to use, Pat targets the escaped Mr. Hyde while trying to keep Toxin's destructive impulses from making things worse. Spider-Man also crosses their path, taking stock of the city's newest and most unpredictable would-be hero.
