Steve Gerber's ten-issue series wakes Greg Salinger, the mania-prone second Foolkiller, in an asylum just as Kurt Gerhardt hits bottom after his father's murder, a divorce and a lost job. Salinger points him toward the costume and the purification gun, and Gerhardt takes up the mantle. His targets begin as criminals, but his private definition of a fool keeps dangerously widening.
