Avengers: Armageddon is a five-issue Marvel event written by Chip Zdarsky with art by Frank Alpizar and Delio Diaz. It grows out of Zdarsky's Captain America run and the fallout of One World Under Doom. Thaddeus Ross, the Red Hulk, seizes the former nation of Latveria and renames it New America.
Wielding a weapon left behind by Doctor Doom, Ross moves to impose his will across the globe by force. With Steve Rogers taken out of the fight, a coalition of heroes drawn from the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and beyond must answer the threat. The event reshapes Earth's Mightiest Heroes and sets the stage for a new Avengers ongoing.
