Secret Wars (2015)
Secret Wars is a nine-issue event series published by Marvel in 2015 and 2016, written by Jonathan Hickman with art by Esad Ribic. It brings the long building threat of the incursions to a climax as the last two universes in the Marvel Multiverse collide and the familiar reality comes to an end.
From the wreckage rises Battleworld, a single planet assembled from the fragments of countless dead realities and ruled over by Doctor Doom as a god. Survivors of the old universes awaken into this strange new order, where Doom's word is law and the truth behind his power is a closely guarded secret.
The series caps Hickman's multi-year run on Avengers and New Avengers and reshaped the Marvel line that followed. It pairs cosmic scale with a close study of Doom, Reed Richards, and the price of godhood.
