Al Simmons33 series258 issues
Todd McFarlane created Spawn for Image, debuting in Spawn #1 in 1992. Al Simmons was a CIA assassin killed on the job who bargained with the demon lord Malebolgia to see his wife again. He came back as a Hellspawn in a living suit, running on a finite store of necroplasmic energy.
