Sluggo Smith is a streetwise orphan boy and the best friend of Nancy in Ernie Bushmiller's newspaper strip Nancy, where he has appeared since its early years. Rough around the edges but kind, he lives without parental supervision, a counterpoint to Nancy's suburban life.
