The homeless community of Rat City gathers for a late-night debate about God, the Devil, and the meaning of their lives on the street. Spawn joins the circle quietly, careful not to inflame either side. Later, a faction within the alley plots to rob and kill one of their own, and when Spawn steps in to challenge them, they open fire. He collapses, unable to understand why his costume has stopped shielding him from ordinary weapons.
