Todd McFarlane
Biography
Todd McFarlane is a Canadian-American comic book artist, writer, and entrepreneur known for his detailed, stylized artwork that helped define the 1990s comic aesthetic.
McFarlane rose to fame at Marvel with his work on The Amazing Spider-Man, where he redefined the character's look, particularly the webbing and acrobatic poses. His Spider-Man #1 (1990) sold over 2.5 million copies.
In 1992, McFarlane co-founded Image Comics and launched Spawn, which became one of the most successful independent comics. He also founded McFarlane Toys, producing detailed collectible figures for comics, sports, and pop culture properties. McFarlane has worked in film and television, including the Spawn animated series for HBO.
