Introduction to Following

What is Following?#

Following lets you subscribe to content you care about. When something you follow has new activity — a new issue drops, a creator is credited on a release, or a podcast publishes an episode — VerseDB can notify you.

What Can I Follow?#

You can follow four types of content:

  • Titles — Comic franchises like "Spider-Man" or "Batman"
  • Characters — Individual characters like "Miles Morales" or "Harley Quinn"
  • Podcasts — Comic-related podcasts tracked on VerseDB
  • Users — Other community members

Tip

Following a title is the best way to stay on top of new series and issues across an entire franchise. For example, following "X-Men" covers all X-Men series, not just one specific run.

How to Follow Something#

  1. Navigate to any title, character, podcast, or user page
  2. Click the Follow button in the action bar
  3. The button changes to Following to confirm

To unfollow, click the Following button again.

What Happens When I Follow?#

Depending on what you follow, you may receive notifications about:

You Follow You Get Notified About
Title New issues and new series under that title
Character New issues featuring that character
Podcast New episodes
User Reviews and lists they publish

Note

Notifications are delivered via email, push notifications, and in-app alerts. You can customize which channels you receive in your notification settings.

Where Can I See My Follows?#

Two places:

  • My Following — Your personal dashboard at My Library → Following. Search, filter by type, and unfollow from here.
  • Your Profile — Other users can see what you follow on the Following tab of your profile page.

During Onboarding#

When you first create an account, the onboarding wizard asks you to follow publishers and creators. This personalizes your experience and helps surface relevant series recommendations.
