The Anatomy Lesson
The Anatomy Lesson is among the most celebrated single issues in comics, written by Alan Moore with art by Steve Bissette and John Totleben. It is the second chapter of Moore's Swamp Thing run.
General Sunderland has taken possession of Swamp Thing's inert body and brings in the imprisoned scientist Jason Woodrue, the Floronic Man, to examine it. Woodrue's task is to work out how Alec Holland became the creature.
His examination leads to a discovery that reshaped the character's origin and mythology for decades to come.
