J. Jonah Jameson has been kidnapped in Paris, and Peter Parker and Joe Robertson have flown out to bring him home. The man holding him is the Cyclone, a French engineer named Andre Gerard who built a wind machine for the United Nations, tried to sell it to NATO, lost his job over it, and decided that America would pay. He has already beaten Spider-Man once. Now he wants a million dollars delivered to Notre Dame Cathedral, where he is waiting. Back in New York, Aunt May steps out to a movie with Anna Watson and sees a woman on the street wearing Gwen Stacy's face.
