Legends of the Dark Knight (1989)

DC's third ongoing Batman title, launched after the 1989 film as a rotating-creator anthology of self-contained arcs. Freed from monthly continuity, top writers and artists dug into Batman's early years and darker corners, opening with Dennis O'Neil and Ed Hannigan's 'Shaman.' The looser format let each team chase its own tone, from noir to myth.
