Douglas Rushkoff's Vertigo series alternates between a near-future America of mandatory identification and a parallel retelling of Old Testament narratives, drawing pointed parallels between biblical coercion and modern surveillance states. Artist Liam Sharp brought both timelines to life across the 22-issue run.
