- Because every issue in VerseDB belongs to a series. A one-shot gets a series entry containing exactly one issue, which keeps its credits, cover, and release date attached to the correct book.
- Are annuals one-shots?
- Usually not. An annual that recurs each year is filed as its own series with multiple issues. A single special with no follow-up is a one-shot.
- Do one-shots fit into a reading order?
- When they are part of a story, yes. Event tie-in one-shots appear in the relevant story arc, so you can read them in sequence without adding them to a main series.
