Tier List Privacy Settings and Sharing

Every tier list is either Public or Private. You can change the setting any time — during creation or from the edit page later.

Public#

Anyone (logged in or not) can view. Public lists appear in search and browse pages, earn XP from vote milestones, can be voted on and commented on, and may be featured if popular.

Private#

Only you can see it. Private lists are hidden from search, voting, and comments — and they don't count toward XP bonuses or featuring. Use them for drafts, experiments, or rankings you want to keep personal.

Changing Privacy#

During creation, toggle the Privacy setting before publishing. After publishing, open the tier list and click Edit — flip the toggle and save.

Sharing#

Every tier list has its own URL: versedb.com/tier-list/{id}/{slug}. Copy the URL from your browser to share anywhere — Discord, Reddit, social media, etc. The built-in share buttons on the tier list page give you one-click posting to Twitter/X, Reddit, Discord, or copy-to-clipboard.

Featured tier lists get a badge and surface on the homepage. Moderators pick features based on quality — well-sourced rankings, strong descriptions, meaningful community engagement, and interesting or creative angles.

Sharing Etiquette#

  • Add context when you post the link (what you ranked and why)
  • Ask genuine questions to spark discussion
  • Reply to thoughtful comments
  • Spam the same link across many communities
  • Beg for votes
  • Argue with every critic
