What Are Tier Lists?

Tier Lists let you rank comics, characters, series, teams, or publishers into customizable ranking tiers — S, A, B, C, D, F by default. It's a visual way to showcase your opinions, compare favorites with the community, and spark discussions.

What You Can Rank#

  • Series — "Best Batman runs", "Top indie comics"
  • Issues — "Best first issues", "Most iconic crossover events"
  • Characters — "Most powerful heroes", "Underrated villains"
  • Teams — "Best Justice League lineups", "Top X-Men rosters"
  • Publishers — "Most consistent publishers right now"

One content type per list — you can't mix characters and series in the same tier list.

How It Works#

Default tiers are S, A, B, C, D, F with preset colors, but you can rename, recolor, reorder, add (up to 8), or remove (minimum 2) them. Each tier holds up to 20 items.

Public tier lists can be voted on and commented on by the community, and they appear in search and browse pages. Private tier lists are yours alone — hidden from everyone else, with no voting or comments.

Earning XP#

Public tier lists earn bonus XP when they hit upvote milestones:

Upvotes Bonus
10 +50 XP
50 +100 XP
100 +250 XP
500 +500 XP

All four milestones stack, for up to 900 XP per tier list.

See How to Create Your First Tier List for the full creation walkthrough.

Tips#

  • Be specific ("Best Spider-Man Runs 1990–2020" beats "Best Comics")
  • Explain your criteria in the description
  • Engage with comments
  • Update as you read more
  • Use vague titles
  • Leave the description empty
  • Cram in too many items — 10–20 is usually the sweet spot
