Tweety Bird
Description
Tweety is a Warner Bros. cartoon character created by Bob Clampett. He first appeared in the 1942 animated short A Tale of Two Kitties and is best known for his pairing with the cat Sylvester in the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series.
Tweety is a small yellow canary who appears innocent and helpless but is surprisingly clever and resourceful when evading predators, particularly Sylvester the Cat. His catchphrase, "I tawt I taw a puddy tat," is one of the most recognized lines in animation history. Despite his cute appearance, Tweety can be surprisingly cunning and even vindictive in outwitting his feline pursuer.
In comics, Tweety has appeared in titles published by Dell, Gold Key, and DC Comics across several decades, typically alongside Sylvester. The Tweety and Sylvester pairing won three Academy Awards for Best Animated Short Film during the golden age of theatrical cartoons.
