Rick Jones

Rick Jones is a recurring human character in the Marvel Universe with direct ties to several major heroes. He was the teenager whose presence at a gamma bomb test site led Bruce Banner to become the Hulk, and that connection set the pattern for the rest of his life.

Jones later became a sidekick to Captain America, was bonded to Captain Marvel through the Nega-Bands, and played a pivotal role in the Kree-Skrull War. He eventually gained his own powers, transforming into the gamma-powered A-Bomb.

His knack for being at the center of universe-altering events, despite having no inherent superpowers for most of his history, makes him one of Marvel's most unusual recurring characters.
