Ghost Rider
CharacterDescription
The original Ghost Rider is a masked western lawman created for Magazine Enterprises, first appearing in Tim Holt #11 in 1949 with art by Dick Ayers. Blending the western and horror genres, the character portrays a frontier marshal who uses theatrical effects to convince outlaws they face a supernatural avenger. He headlined his own self-titled series from Magazine Enterprises beginning in 1950, appearing across multiple titles until the mid-1950s, and his name was later adopted and reimagined by Marvel Comics.
