Amy Rose is a pink hedgehog and a major recurring character in the Archie Comics Sonic the Hedgehog series, based on the video game character who debuted in Sonic CD in 1993. An enthusiastic and headstrong young hedgehog who considers herself Sonic's girlfriend, she is known for wielding a large hammer called the Piko Piko Hammer in combat. She first appeared in the Archie Comics series in Sonic the Hedgehog #25 in 1995 and became a prominent member of the main cast.
