Kitty Pryde

Katherine "Kitty" Pryde is a Marvel Comics mutant superhero created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne. She first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #129 (1980) and joined the team shortly after the conclusion of the Dark Phoenix Saga.

Born in Deerfield, Illinois, Kitty's mutant phasing ability manifested at age thirteen, allowing her to pass through solid matter. She was recruited to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters as the team's youngest member, initially using the codename Sprite before later adopting Ariel and then Shadowcat.

Kitty trained in martial arts under Wolverine's guidance during a mission in Japan, an experience that shaped her from a nervous teenager into a capable fighter. She went on to co-found the British superhero team Excalibur, returned to the X-Men as a senior member and teacher, and eventually led the team. She has also served with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Her relationship with Colossus is one of the longest-running romances in X-Men history.
