Description

Wally West is the nephew of Iris West who first appeared in The Flash #110 (1959), created by writer John Broome and artist Carmine Infantino. He gained his speed powers through a freak accident that mirrored how Barry Allen became The Flash, when a chemical cabinet in Allen's lab was struck by lightning during a visit. Operating as Kid Flash, he served as sidekick to Barry Allen and was a founding member of the Teen Titans before eventually taking on the Flash mantle himself.
