Leonardo
CharacterDescription
Leonardo is the leader of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, trained in ninjutsu by the rat sensei Splinter in the sewers of New York City. He wears a blue mask and fights with twin katanas. Named after the Renaissance polymath Leonardo da Vinci, he is the most disciplined and strategically focused of his brothers, driven by a strong sense of duty and responsibility. His emphasis on training and restraint sometimes puts him at odds with the impulsive Raphael. He was co-created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird and first appeared in 1984.
