Dale

Dale is one half of the Disney chipmunk duo Chip 'n' Dale, created by Bill Justice and brought to animation by Jack Hannah. The pair first appeared in the 1943 animated short Private Pluto.

Dale is the more laid-back and impulsive of the two chipmunks, recognizable by his red nose and two front teeth (in contrast to Chip's black nose and single tooth). Together with Chip, he frequently clashes with Donald Duck and Pluto in animated shorts and comics, typically raiding their food or disrupting their plans.

In comics, Dale has appeared in thousands of stories published worldwide, both in dedicated Chip 'n' Dale titles and as a supporting character in other Disney comics. The duo also starred in the animated series Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (1989), where Dale was reimagined as a Hawaiian shirt-wearing detective with a love of pop culture.
