Reggie Mantle

Reginald "Reggie" Mantle is an Archie Comics character created by John L. Goldwater, Bob Montana, and Vic Bloom. He first appeared in Jackpot Comics #5 (1942) and has been a fixture of the Riverdale cast since the earliest days of the franchise.

Reggie is the vain, scheming prankster of Riverdale High School. He considers himself the most attractive and popular student in town, frequently clashing with Archie Andrews over girls, social status, and general one-upmanship. His schemes to humiliate Archie or win the attention of Veronica Lodge and other girls are a recurring source of comedy.

Despite his antagonistic streak, Reggie is part of the core friend group and is not a true villain. He has starred in several solo series, including Reggie and Me (2016), which explored his character through the perspective of his dog Vader. His role has ranged from comic foil in classic Archie stories to a more layered character in modern reimaginings.
