Description
Milhouse Van Houten is the best friend of Bart Simpson in The Simpsons animated television series and the Bongo Comics comic book series. Named by creator Matt Groening after the middle name of U.S. President Richard Nixon, he is depicted as a timid, bespectacled boy of Dutch-Jewish descent who is often targeted by bullies and harbors an unrequited affection for Bart's sister Lisa. The Simpsons debuted in 1989 and the Bongo comic series launched in 1993.
