Description
Idéfix, known in English as Dogmatix, is a small white terrier and the loyal companion of Obelix in the Asterix comic series. He first appeared in Asterix and the Banquet, following the two heroes across Gaul before becoming a regular fixture. The only animal among the main cast, Idéfix is notable for his deep attachment to trees and his distress whenever any are damaged. His French name is a pun on 'idée fixe,' meaning an obsession.
