Chip

Chip is one half of the Disney chipmunk duo Chip 'n' Dale, created by Bill Justice and first appearing in the 1943 animated short Private Pluto. He is the more focused and responsible of the two brothers.

Chip is recognizable by his black nose and single front tooth, in contrast to Dale's red nose and two front teeth. He is the natural leader of the pair, often devising plans and keeping Dale on task. Together they frequently clash with Donald Duck, Pluto, and other Disney characters in both animated shorts and comics.

In comics, Chip has appeared in thousands of Disney stories published worldwide, starring in dedicated Chip 'n' Dale titles and appearing as part of the broader Disney cast. The duo were reimagined as fedora-wearing detectives in the animated series Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (1989), where Chip was modeled after Indiana Jones.
