Description

Ferdie Fieldmouse is one of Mickey Mouse's twin nephews, introduced alongside his brother Morty in Floyd Gottfredson's Mickey Mouse Sunday comic strip in 1932. In early strips the brothers were portrayed as largely interchangeable, but Gottfredson later planned to distinguish Ferdie as a bespectacled, bookish character before those plans were set aside. Ferdie was removed from the newspaper strip in 1943 but remained a fixture of Disney comic books, continuing to appear in stories alongside Morty through subsequent decades.
