Lucy van Pelt
CharacterDescription
Lucy van Pelt is a central character in Charles M. Schulz's Peanuts comic strip, first appearing on March 3, 1952. The eldest sibling of Linus and Rerun van Pelt, she is defined by a bossy, opinionated, and frequently crabby temperament. She is best known for operating a five-cent psychiatric booth where she dispenses advice to a long-suffering Charlie Brown, and for her recurring prank of pulling away a football just as he attempts to kick it. Despite her domineering personality, she is one of the strip's most emotionally complex figures.
