Description

Jeff is the short-statured, perpetually optimistic sidekick of Augustus Mutt in Mutt and Jeff, the pioneering American newspaper comic strip created by Bud Fisher in 1907. Originally introduced as an inmate of an insane asylum, Jeff became Mutt's inseparable companion in a long-running series of misadventures and failed money-making schemes. The strip brought the pair to comic book form across titles from multiple publishers throughout the mid-twentieth century.
