Description

Billy Bunter is a rotund, bespectacled English schoolboy at Greyfriars School, created by Charles Hamilton under the pen name Frank Richards and first appearing in The Magnet in 1908. Self-important, lazy, and perpetually scheming for food or money, he was known to his classmates as the Fat Owl of the Remove. He appeared in nearly all of The Magnet's 1,683 issues before the weekly's closure in 1940, and subsequently appeared in novels, television adaptations, and British comic strip form.
