Getting Started#
Creating a tier list on VerseDB is easy and fun! This guide walks you through every step.
Note
- Have a VerseDB account
- Verify your email address
- Be logged in
Step 1: Navigate to Create Page#
- Click "Tier Lists" in the main navigation
- Click the "Create Tier List" button
- Or go directly to: versedb.com/tier-lists/create
Step 2: Choose Your Content Type#

Choose a content type you're knowledgeable about and passionate about.
Step 3: Add Title and Description#
Title#
- "Best Spider-Man Runs (1990-2020)"
- "Most Underrated Marvel Characters"
- "Top 20 X-Men Issues Ranked"
- "My List"
- "Comics"
- "Best Characters"
Description (Recommended)#
Explain your ranking criteria: What makes something S-tier vs F-tier? What are your personal biases?
Step 4: Set Up Your Tiers#
VerseDB provides default tiers (S, A, B, C, D, F), but you can customize them!
Customization Options:
- Rename tiers (e.g., "S" → "God Tier" or "Must Read")
- Change colors (pick any hex color)
- Add tiers (up to 8 total)
- Remove tiers you don't need (minimum 2)
- Reorder tiers by dragging
Tip
- God Tier, Great, Good, Okay, Bad, Trash
- Must Read, Excellent, Solid, Meh, Skip
- Masterpiece, Great, Average, Poor, Terrible
Step 5: Add Items to Your Tiers#
- Search for content using the search bar
- Select items from the search results
- Drag items into the appropriate tier
- Reorder within tiers by dragging up/down
Note
- Each tier can hold up to 20 items
- Items display in the order you place them
- Move items between tiers anytime
Step 6: Set Privacy Settings#

| Private | Only you can see, good for drafts |
You can change privacy settings anytime.
Step 7: Preview and Publish#
Final Checklist:
- Title is clear and specific
- Description explains your criteria
- All tiers have appropriate items
- Items are in the right order
- Privacy setting is correct
Click "Create Tier List" to publish!
Managing Your Tier Lists#
View your tier lists: versedb.com/tier-lists/dashboard
Edit: Click "Edit" on any tier list page to make changes
Delete: Go to edit page → "Delete Tier List" (cannot be undone)
Earning XP from Tier Lists#

Common Mistakes to Avoid#
Warning
- Vague Titles - "My Tier List" tells nothing
- No Description - Explain your criteria
- Too Many Items - Start with 10-20 items
- Empty Tiers - Remove tiers you don't use
