The Punisher (1986)
Frank Castle's first solo title, a five-issue limited series published January to May 1986. Written by Steven Grant with pencils by Mike Zeck and inks by John Beatty. Castle is imprisoned, broken out by a shadowy syndicate called the Trust, then turns on his handlers in a war across New York's underworld. Collected as Circle of Blood, it made the Punisher a franchise.
