Nova (1976)

Richard Rider is an ordinary New York high schooler chosen by a dying alien soldier to inherit the powers and uniform of the Nova Corps, an interstellar police force from the planet Xandar. Created by Marv Wolfman and John Buscema, the run gives the cosmic origin a Spider-Man-style working-class sensibility.
