Description

The Punisher is Marvel Comics' franchise centered on Frank Castle, a former Marine who wages a lethal one-man war on organized crime after gangsters murder his family. Unlike most Marvel heroes, he kills, relying on firearms, tactics, and military training rather than powers.

Created by Gerry Conway, John Romita Sr., and Ross Andru, the character debuted in 1974 and grew into a headline act across decades of comics. This franchise gathers his many ongoing runs, limited series, and imprint books, including the acclaimed Marvel Knights and MAX eras.

Frank Castle has also reached film and television, most recently the 2026 Marvel Television special The Punisher: One Last Kill.
