Plastic Man
Description
Plastic Man is a DC Comics superhero originally created by Jack Cole for Quality Comics. He first appeared in Police Comics #1 (1941) and was later acquired by DC Comics along with other Quality characters.
Patrick "Eel" O'Brian was a small-time crook who was shot during a heist at a chemical plant and doused with an unidentified acid. Abandoned by his gang and nursed back to health by a monastery, he discovered the acid had given him the ability to stretch, reshape, and reform his body into virtually any shape. Inspired by the monks' kindness, he reformed and became the superhero Plastic Man.
Plastic Man's powers make him nearly indestructible. He can flatten himself paper-thin, inflate to enormous size, and reshape his body into functional objects like trampolines, parachutes, or vehicles. Batman has stated that Plastic Man is one of the most powerful beings on Earth due to the near-limitless versatility of his abilities.
The character is known for his comedic tone, wisecracking personality, and slapstick visual humor. He has served as a member of the Justice League and the All-Star Squadron.
